Looking back, did you expect to write more fic than you thought you would this year, less, or about what you’d expected?

Both?? I'm surprised my word count is larger than I thought it would be, but I am slightly surprised to see that I pretty much averaged like, 1 AO3 fic a month. I expected something a little higher.

What’s your own favorite story of the year?

??? It hasn't been finished yet, my BokuAka labour of love. It may never be finished. 

Did you take any writing risks this year?

Yes. Some of them paid off (MiyuMei Quidditch fic; non-chronological order, dual timelines, unfamiliar character) and some of them flopped and will probably never get back up (KuraRyou Siren AU; also non-chronological order, world-building AU, pretentious attempt at thoughtful writing). 

Do you have any fanfic or profit goals for the new year?

Write more probably. Diversify. Get better??? Yeah.

Best story of the year?

Um. BokuAka labour of love probably. 

Most popular story of the year?

Stroke of luck I think, that "third wheel" got as popular as it did. It was an offshoot from my BokuAka labour of love and shrug, developed a life of its own so?? It became a new fic. I'm glad it can stand on its own two legs. 

Story of mine most under-appreciated by the universe, in my opinion: 

I feel like all of them have been appreciated in some way or form -- even some of my WIPs. If not by the actual readers, then by whoever I manage to rope into being beta for me, lmao. As long as someone reads it and remotely enjoys it?? I'm happy. 

Most fun story to write:

Nothing is fun, everything is pain. But then again?? I enjoy that stress and pain lmao. I enjoyed writing everything. The more pain, the more fun. I mean, this is probably a stunning example of the availability heuristic, but if I had to pick one I'm gonna say the MiyuMei Quidditch fic. 

Story with the single sexiest moment:

"pushing it" probably, by virtue of being one extended smut scene. 

Most sweet story:

"snowflakes" ?? maybe?? I pulled out a bunch of established relationship feelings for that one.

”Holy crap, thats wrong, even for you!” story:

Okay I have a snowballing AkaKuro somewhere in my WIPs, which is technically finished but never gonna see the light of day so. I also have an actual-- I just realised I've written octopus smut. Because of that tentacle fic. Yeah okay. Hums. Also never gonna see the light of day. 

Story that shifted my own perceptions of the characters:

Why are these questions so hard? Probably the BokuAka labour of love, because I had so many BokuAka crises over that fic that I actually had to sit down and think about who these characters are. 

Most unintentionally telling story:

Everything I write these days is fluff and gen. Amazing. 

Hardest story to write:

Weirdly enough, "snowflakes" -- if only because I wrote and rewrote and rewrote and edited and rewrote that fic so many times due to the fact that I couldn't get it to sit right. Then I came back to it with fresh eyes, had it beta-ed again and rewrote it again. Then edited it again. 

Biggest disappointment:

That I didn't write more for SASO. 

Biggest surprise:

That I got to meet so many wonderful people this year.
